VaultOS in plain terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of VaultOS, a local-first desktop application by Del Portal Technologies S.A.C. (Lima, Peru). Please read them carefully.
By installing or using VaultOS, you agree to these Terms. VaultOS is a local desktop application for storing your own passwords, keys, notes and technical data. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use it. If you do not agree, do not use VaultOS.
Del Portal Technologies S.A.C. grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use VaultOS on devices you own or control. VaultOS stores all of your content locally on your device, encrypted. You are solely responsible for your master password and recovery code: we never receive them and cannot reset or recover them. If you lose both, no one, including us, can recover your data. You are responsible for keeping your own backups and for the lawful use of the information you store.
VaultOS offers a free tier and an optional one-time 'Lifetime' (Pro) purchase that unlocks unlimited entries. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store, which acts as merchant of record; we never receive or store your payment-card details. Refunds and billing are handled by Apple under its terms. For billing questions you can also reach us at billing@delportaltechnologies.com.
VaultOS is provided 'as is' and 'as available', without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Because your data is encrypted locally and we have no access to it or to your master password, we cannot recover lost data and are not liable for data loss resulting from a forgotten master password and recovery code, device failure, or your own actions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Del Portal Technologies S.A.C. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of VaultOS.
We may update VaultOS and these Terms; material changes take effect when the updated version is published. You may stop using VaultOS at any time by wiping your vault and uninstalling the app. These Terms are governed by the laws of Peru, including Law No. 29733 on the Protection of Personal Data and its regulations. For legal matters, contact us through the channel below.
VaultOS is private by design: it runs entirely on your device, makes no network connections, and we operate no servers that receive your data. This policy explains what that means and the few cases where a third party (the Apple App Store) is involved.
Your data is used only by you, on your device, to store and retrieve your own credentials and notes. VaultOS processes it locally to search, display, copy to your clipboard (which is cleared automatically after a short time), and encrypt it at rest. We do not use, sell, share or transfer your data, because we never have access to it.
Under Peru's Law No. 29733, you have the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition over your personal data. Because VaultOS keeps your data only on your device and we hold none of it, you exercise these rights directly in the app: you can view, edit, export or permanently delete everything at any time. For any privacy question or to exercise these rights, write to privacy@delportaltechnologies.com.
VaultOS bundles no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs and contacts no external services. The only third party involved is the store you installed from: the Apple App Store processes optional purchases and provides the operating-system features VaultOS relies on, such as the Keychain and Touch ID that protect your vault. Apple's handling of those is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Because VaultOS stores everything locally and we operate no servers, we retain none of your data. Retention is entirely under your control on your device.
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Vault content (passwords, keys, notes, project data) | Stored only on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app; never on our servers. |
| Master password and recovery code | Never stored by us in any form; held only in your device's memory while the vault is unlocked and never written to disk in plaintext. |
| Local diagnostic log (optional) | Kept on your device only, with secrets redacted; you can clear it at any time. |
| Purchase record | Handled by the Apple App Store under Apple's policies; on your device only a 'Lifetime' flag with no personal data is stored. |
You can permanently erase all of your data at any time by wiping your vault in the app or uninstalling VaultOS; there is no account or server-side copy to delete. For any data-related request you can write to privacy@delportaltechnologies.com and we will respond within 30 days.
